Skill / Senior: Brackets are divided by skill level or age group. Skill and Senior divisions use round robin play, first to 11 points, win by 2 from a 10–10 tie (some smaller brackets may play to 15 points). With 8+ teams, the top 2 teams from each group advance to a single-elimination playoff — best 2 of 3 games, first to 11 points. *Match format may change depending on weather and entry numbers per category. |

[Weather & What to Wear] December in Ariake is typically dry and sunny, with average temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 13°C (55°F). Daytime is comfortable, but it gets cold while watching or waiting between matches — please bring a warm coat, down jacket, or fleece. [Venue Facilities] Indoor waiting areas, locker rooms, showers, and restrooms are all available on site. [In Case of Bad Weather] Match schedule changes due to bad weather will be announced as needed. Depending on court availability and lighting, indoor courts (with the same surface as the outdoor courts) may be used instead. *Please note that no refunds will be issued for weather-related changes or delays. |

World-standard rules that keep the playing field fair for everyone

| 2.5 | Just starting to rally. Can hit basic shots, but direction and control are still inconsistent. Beginning to understand the rules. |

| 3.0 | Can hit a medium-paced forehand but direction control is inconsistent. Backhand is weak, and serve/return depth varies. Struggles to sustain a dink rally. |
| 3.5 | Shots are becoming more consistent, and starting to understand pace variation. Can sustain short rallies and has picked up the basics of stacking. |
| 4.0 | Hits deep shots consistently and can make good shot selections. Backhand is reliable, and understands dink control along with block and reset concepts. |
| 4.5 | Strong court positioning and tactical awareness, with a wide shot variety adapted to the situation. Can construct points strategically. |
| 5.0+ | Hits every shot with high precision and consistency. Extensive tournament experience — strategy, mental game, and technical skill are all elite-level. |
